When And Where Is Competition?
Competition is at 8:00am every Saturday morning during the season at Woodlands Park, Swanton Drive, Mudgeeraba.
How Long Is the Season?
Our season runs between August and March. Exact dates are determined on a yearly basis.
Is Competition Held Over the School Holidays?
Yes. We run every Saturday (weather permitting) from August through to March with the exception of a few weeks break over Christmas. We may also miss the occasional Saturday due to major carnivals.
I’m Not Sure If I Want To Join, Can I Do A Trial?
Absolutely! We highly recommend that prospective athletes do at least one trial before registering. Children can come and trial on any Saturday during August or September only. Please note the trial period has finished for this season. No pre-registration is necessary – just come down to Woodlands Park, Mudgeeraba by 7:45am (ready for an 8am start) and pay $5/child at the canteen. We allow 2 trials per child before we require registration. Trials are available to new athletes only.
What Do My Children Wear If They Are Doing A Trial?
Athletes that are trialing should wear shorts, t-shirt, hat and sneakers. Please note that bare feet or thongs are not permitted.
From What Age Can My Child Join Little Athletics?
Children can join Little Athletics the day they turn 3.
How Much Are Your Fees?
Please refer to our Fee Structure page for our current fees.
Can I Get a Refund Of Fees If My Child Does Not Like Athletics?
Unfortunately no. A disclaimer is signed as part of the registration process through Little Athletics Queensland acknowledging that registration fees are non-refundable. It is for this reason that we strongly encourage prospective athletes to do a trial before joining.

Can I Register Midway Through The Season?
Of course. We accept registrations at any time throughout the season. Refer to our Sign On page for more information on how to register.
What Events Does My Child Compete In Each Week?
Each week our Under 6 – Under 17 athletes compete in 2 track events and 3 field events.
Our track events include 70m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1100m, 1500m, the walk and hurdles*.
Our field events are shot put, discus, turbo javelin/javelin, vortex, long jump, high jump and triple jump*.
No events are compulsory but we do encourage athletes to attempt each event.

How Long Does Competition Take Each Week?
Each age group participate in 5 events each week. Athletes are finished when their group completes all 5 events. Generally, groups are finished by 10:00 – 10:30am each week.
Do Boys Compete Against Girls?
Some age groups are mixed and the athletes compete in events against each other. Their results however are compared with others of the same gender and age.
What If My Child Cannot Keep Up With Others In Their Age Group?
All children are encouraged to “Be Their Best”. A recognition of achievement is not whether an athlete comes first but whether they continually improve each week. The athlete within each age group who achieves the most personal bests throughout the season is awarded a Personal Best Medal at the end of the season.
Where Do I Find My Child’s Results?
Go to resultshq.com.au. Your ResultsHQ username is the email address you gave Little Athletics Qld when you first registered. Your password will arrive by email shortly before the season commences.
To access current & historical results: Once you have logged into ResultsHQ, at the top of the screen is a Results menu item. Select that and then choose the relevant date, age, gender, and event and the full results will be displayed for that event. To see last year’s results click the “Previous Season Results” button.
To access the Club records: Once you have logged into ResultsHQ, at the top of the screen is a Records menu item. Select that and the full records will be displayed for the Club. You can narrow this down by clicking on the relevant age, gender and event buttons. You can also sort by clicking the various column headers.
In the event of wet weather, members will be notified by 7:30am, at the very latest, on our Facebook page. Please check before you leave. Where possible an email will be sent out. Please understand that we have a duty of care to the athletes and will cancel if we feel the track is unsafe for use.
Do We Have to Participate In Carnivals?
No, carnivals are not compulsory although we encourage support of the local regional South Coast Zone carnivals.
How Can I Help?
Don’t just sit around and watch! Join in the fun with some constructive assistance. Each week the Age Managers will need assistance with your child’s group. This can be with timekeeping, place judging, raking the sandpit, placing the bar back on the high jump etc.
If you need help with recording results, just ask one of the friendly committee members who will be on the field all morning.
If you would like to become more involved in your child/children’s athletics you can become an “Official”. This simply involves learning a little more about the specific rules relating to a particular event. The more qualified helpers we have the more our Little Athletes will benefit. Please speak to one of the committee members for more information.
